Changing Time – Youth Mosaic

Location: 200 1st Street SW (East side of Wai Kwan Manor)

This mural represents what Chinatown means to Chinese youth in Calgary. A group of children between the ages of 8 and 16 helped put this piece of art together in five days.

Starting on the left, the pagoda with firecrackers represents old China; the middle stand a robot holding bubble tea that represents modernity; towards the right side of the mural, you will see a dragon, starting in China, leaning to towards the Calgary Tower and Bow Tower with its head wrapped around downtown, representing strength and longevity.
